Moreover, we offer thoughtful relocation services to ensure your instruments are properly protected during the moving process, minimizing the risk of damage caused by handling. We always prioritize our users, listening to your needs and providing personalized solutions.

These points are really, really, really important to note during laboratory relocation!

Anyone who has moved before immediately pictures a scene of chaos when relocation is mentioned. That's right! Laboratory moves involve valuable, high-precision, and fragile instruments and equipment, requiring even more attention to detail. After the move, the setup must also comply with management requirements.

Four key points for implementing laboratory relocation:

1. Packaging and protection of laboratory equipment:

After packaging, clearly mark the outer boxes with "item characteristics" as required by labels, such as "liquid," "high-precision instrument," or "glassware."

2. Handling and protection during laboratory equipment relocation:

Before moving, walk through all pathways to be used, noting turns, doorframe dimensions at entrances and exits, and gaps or height differences between the freight elevator cabin and the floor.

3. Low-speed transportation of laboratory equipment:

Controlling the vehicle speed is the best protection for precision instruments. Even though we have considered anti-vibration requirements during packaging, low-speed transportation is still necessary.

4. Installation and debugging of laboratory equipment:

After relocating the equipment, it must be positioned, installed, and debugged. Only after this work is completed can the entire laboratory relocation process be considered finished.

In addition to the above, many details need attention during implementation, such as:

"Pack all accessories for each instrument together and label them clearly to avoid confusion."

"Separate the GC and MS, disconnect the transfer lines, and pack small parts in sealed bags, preferably in boxes."

"Seal interfaces and connectors with plastic wrap to prevent foreign objects from entering."

"Take photos of wiring before disassembly to facilitate reassembly later."

"If there is excessive wiring, label it appropriately."

"Short-distance moves may allow for bare handling for convenience, but long-distance relocations require proper packaging."

After relocating the laboratory to a new location, what steps are needed to maintain laboratory accreditation?

1. Notify the change of address: The laboratory must inform the CNAS Secretariat in writing within 20 working days.

2. The laboratory must immediately stop using the accreditation mark/joint mark and develop a corresponding verification plan, retaining relevant records. Only after CNAS confirms through an on-site assessment can the laboratory resume using the accreditation mark/joint mark in the relevant fields.

3. If the laboratory changes its address without notifying the CNAS Secretariat in a timely manner, or if it uses the accreditation mark before CNAS confirmation, CNAS may suspend or revoke accreditation depending on the circumstances.

※ The above three points are stipulated in CNAS-RL01. In practice, the following steps should be taken:

1. Conduct confirmation checks on the relocated laboratory:

The main checks after relocation focus on laboratory equipment and the laboratory environment to ensure the equipment remains in its original state.

The primary methods for equipment verification are calibration and检定. Alternatively, the laboratory can perform self-verification, such as testing with standard reference materials or comparing with other equipment. The specific method should be determined by the laboratory based on actual conditions. Environmental verification ensures that the conditions in the new location meet standard and instrument requirements, such as voltage compatibility for equipment and lighting conditions for relevant testing standards.

2. How to notify the accreditation body:

Notify in writing by completing CNAS-PD20/26-B/1 "Application for Change" and the following annexes:

Annex 2: "Address Change Application Form";

Annex 3: "Self-Assessment Form for Change of Key Premises";

Annex 4: "Application Form for Change of Key Premises";

These forms can be downloaded from the CNAS website.

3. On-site assessment after relocation:

After relocation, CNAS will send experts for an on-site assessment. The laboratory should prepare for the assessment, with a focus on the relocated equipment and environment.
